And the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 M is even more powerful and sporting.

The Aachen-based tuning specialist is currently working on a performance upgrade which, in combination with delimiting the Vmax and a sports exhaust, will bring a further perceptible increase in the power of the BMW X6 M. And if that's not enough, you can also opt for the carbon fibre AC Schnitzer engine styling. Even without a performance upgrade, the acoustic and visual attraction will be enhanced by the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with two chromed "Sports Trim" tailpipe trims in right/left combination.

AC Schnitzer not only gives the BMW X6 M more power, but also a tailored race outfit of carbon. Front spoiler, rear roof spoiler, rear wing, rear diffuser and design elements for the front skirt and chromed front grille give the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 M an impressive and muscular appearance. As an option, the carbon Bonnet Vents with chromed centre web complete the sporting look.

A real highlight is the new AC Schnitzer Bonnet Top of carbon with plexiglas panoramic window through which the engine is permanently visible.

For the X6 M - 1.98 metres wide as standard - AC Schnitzer has adapted the Falcon wheel arch extensions so that the BMW body gains an extra 40 mm width each side.

The already sporting interior ambience of the BMW X6 M has been refined further in the Aachen works. The instrument panel conversion - speedo and rev counter with AC Schnitzer logo, white dials, red pointers and red lighting - gives the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 M a speedometer display up to 360 km/h. The carbon interior trim and the AC Schnitzer steering wheel spokes in new "black Exclusiv" design and the AC Schnitzer aluminium cover for the i-Drive system controller, aluminium footrest and pedal set, and velour foot mats, round off the interior package.

The wheelarches of the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 M can be filled with 20", 22" or imposing 23" AC Schnitzer wheels in Type IV BiColor, Type VII silver, black or BiColor, or the AC Schnitzer forged alloys Type V or forged racing rims Type VIII BiColor. In combination with the 275, 315, 295 or 335 tyres, it's easy for the driver in the cockpit to transfer the engine power to the track, and at the same time provide external evidence of the "motorsport gene" of the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 M even when stationary.Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-1264649670784050622011-02-28T22:22:00.001-08:002011-02-28T22:23:46.187-08:002011 AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S Concept<img style="display:block; Equally prizeworthy is the AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S Saloon based on the BMW 5-Series saloon, which celebrates its premiere at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

With this concept vehicle, the Aachen-based tuning specialist AC Schnitzer is demonstrating new and unusual aspects of driving pleasure. With a performance upgrade from 407 to 540 HP, the AC Schnitzer engineers are pushing the boundaries of the possible - for greater dynamics and efficiency. The driving performance is at thoroughbred sportscar level: the sprint from 0 - 100 kph takes just 4.5 seconds, and the top speed is around 320 kph. A glance under the bonnet with the AC Schnitzer engine and engine bay styling shows just who is responsible for the revolutionary refinement. The AC Schnitzer limited slip differential with up to 75% effect ensures that the tremendous power reaches the point where it is needed. The AC Schnitzer twin sports rear silencer with chromed "Sports Trim" tail pipe trims left and right combines exciting appearance and sound.

What does the sophisticated driver expect from perfect brakes? Perfect braking of course! With the AC Schnitzer high performance brake system with 8-piston fixed calipers left and right, and an 8-piece kit of brake pads and caliper holders for the front axle, all expectations of optimum deceleration and maximum stability are amply fulfilled. And the driving dynamics leave nothing to be desired. The AC Schnitzer racing suspension guides the saloon perfectly through the corners.

The AC Schnitzer tuning specialists will be focussing on the reactions to the new aerodynamic components for the body of the 5-Series saloon. As well as the familiar AC Schnitzer front spoiler and chromed front grille, a new carbon front spoiler centre part gives the AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S Saloon an even more striking aspect. The carbon air ducts for the brakes left and right ensure adequate ventilation for the high performance brake system, and the new AC Schnitzer carbon side skirts clearly enhance the side view of the concept vehicle. The engine bay is ventilated by the bonnet vents from the current AC Schnitzer range. Together with further accessories already available, such as the AC Schnitzer rear roof spoiler, the rear spoiler and the rear skirt extension, new elements such as the AC Schnitzer sports wings left and right with Chromline Set and the carbon rear diffusor contribute to the great appearance. The AC Schnitzer loading sill protection film and the BiColor film trim harmoniously complete the sporting elegance of the body conversion. Possible and probable reactions to such a well-equipped vehicle are envious glances, which the proud driver seated behind the AC Schnitzer sports airbag steering wheel with painted spokes can enjoy in the new AC Schnitzer sports mirror.

The AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport S saloon appears at the Geneva Motor Show with full leather trim in BiColor, painted interior trim strips and racing bucket seats with AC Schnitzer logo, which form part of the overall concept for the interior. The AC Schnitzer range already contains the AC Schnitzer "Black Line" aluminium cover for the i-Drive system controller, the aluminium foot rests and pedal set, velours boot mat and foot mats.Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-80090067778180967612011-02-28T22:19:00.000-08:002011-02-28T22:21:57.893-08:002011 AC Schnitzer 99d Concept<img style="display:block; The 99d accelerates from 0 - 100 in an electrifying 6.9 s and has a top speed of 235 km/h - a vehicle with all the sporting genes, in fact a true AC Schnitzer. And with a fuel consumption of just 3.8 litres diesel per 100 km.

So how does this Concept Car by AC Schnitzer manage to achieve such low figures? AC Schnitzer calls the combination of features Efficient Performance.

"Pleasure is the driving force!" That applies not only to the BMW engineers but also - and in particular - to the tuning specialists at AC Schnitzer.

Diesel engine and matching drive train

A diesel engine in a BMW Z4, and the most efficient currently available from BMW. It comes from the 320d EfficientDynamics. And of course now the power has been optimised by the Aachen specialists to 190 HP and 420 Nm torque (standard 320d EfficientDynamics Edition: 163 HP).

230 kg weight saving

The elegant lightweight coupé demonstrates what is technically possible today. The energy source for example is a lightweight lithium ion battery instead of the usual lead accumulator. The use of further lightweight materials such as carbon, magnesium and titanium has achieved further substantial savings in the interior equipment. So it's lighter than any current standard BMW.
AC Schnitzer 99d Concept (2011)

Weight reduction in unsprung mass

35 kg less weight in the parts directly connected to the wheels, such as wheels, tyres and brakes, leads to a perceptible gain in agility and driving pleasure. The latest forging techniques using materials from the aerospace industry guarantee strength and an unbeatable weight saving. For example, the AC Schnitzer lightweight 4-pot high performance brake system with retraction system for the front axle, and the lightweight brake discs on the front and rear axles, ensure the shortest braking distances.

Or the Type VIII one-piece high-strength forged rims used on the AC Schnitzer 99d. These weigh in at just 7.9 kg per wheel and are connected to the vehicle with titanium wheel bolts. Experts say that measures to reduce the unsprung mass have a benefit of up to four times the weight saving. This means that in terms of agility, the AC Schnitzer 99d feels like a vehicle which overall weighs 335 kg less.

Special Eco-tyres from Continental

The Continental BLUECO tyres size 225/35*19 were a special concept development in conjunction with AC Schnitzer. These tyres help optimise the rolling resistance. The design is a refinement of the Conti Sport Contact 5P, and allows sporting driving thanks to its high cornering stability and ZR speed rating of over 240 km/h.

Adaptation of EfficientDynamics

Behind the BMW EfficientDynamics concept lies a technology package of intelligent measures which significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions. These technologies from the BMW 320d were integrated into the AC Schnitzer 99d: Automatic start-stop, brake energy recuperation, gear shift display, low-friction lubricants and active aerodynamics.

Improved aerodynamics

The bodywork lowered by 30 mm, in conjunction with several AC Schnitzer carbon aerodynamic components, reduces drag. The AC Schnitzer racing suspension with adjustable dampers reduces the residual spring travel to a sporting but still comfortable level, especially when driving at low speeds.

Reduced friction

Special ceramic wheel bearings achieve a decisive reduction in friction resistance. In addition, optimised low-friction lubricants minimise friction. The high performance brake system is fitted with a special PFC Retraction System which, after each brake process, retracts the brake pads by 0.1 mm from the brake discs. The wheels of the AC Schnitzer 99d then turn much more easily.

Driving pleasure

Individuality, exclusivity, ultramodern lightweight construction and over 20 years of experience in refinement have led in the AC Schnitzer 99d to a vehicle which perfectly combines efficient fuel consumption and driving pleasure: Efficient Performance by AC Schnitzer.

Naturally all safety elements are retained such as ABS, airbags and ESP. The multimedia world too is not lacking thanks to the Apple iPhone4 integrated into the vehicle. This gives access to all data from the on-board computer. So the actual fuel consumption, or for example the function of the particle filter can be checked. Music, telephone, navigation, handsfree or internet complete the overall experience in the AC Schnitzer 99d.

The AC Schnitzer 99d is a concept car not for sale, which was developed as a technology platform. In the form shown here, the vehicle would cost € 149,000.00.Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-87122189872411844532010-02-18T03:51:00.001-08:002010-02-18T03:54:48.336-08:002010 AC Schnitzer BMW X1

The BMW X1 is the latest welcome addition to the compact vehicles segment, and brings the characteristic BMW "Driving Pleasure" to this class. AC Schnitzer BMW X1 celebrates its world premiere at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

The BMW X1 is available with choice of a 6-cylinder petrol engine and three 4-cylinder diesel power plants. Here again, AC Schnitzer is setting totally new standards for driving pleasure in the premium compact segment. The BMW X1 xDrive23d has been upgraded from a 150 kW/204 HP diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo and Common Rail injection to 240 HP. The 2.0 d and 1.8 d units in the BMW X1 also feature Common Rail injection and a turbocharger, and with the AC Schnitzer tuning package achieve 210 and 171 HP respectively. Naturally, the power upgrades are available for both the sDrive and xDrive versions. The AC Schnitzer engine styling including capacity logo is available for vehicles with and without performance upgrade.

Acoustically, the sporting driving experience is enhanced by the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer for the petrol BMW X1 xDrive 28i. Visual elegance is provided by the chromed "Racing" tailpipe trim which is also available for all other models.

The superb driving behaviour of the BMW X1 with its focus on agility, precision and handling is the direct result of the sophisticated suspension technology used on the extremely solid body structure. AC Schnitzer has built on this and with its suspension spring kit and an aluminium strut brace, ensures the perfect balance between sporting performance and driving comfort.

The AC Schnitzer aerodynamics package is far more than mere decoration, although it harmonises effectively in the overall concept. The front spoiler and rear skirt extension, in combination with the rear roof spoiler, improve downforce and ensure additional ground adhesion. Engine bay venting is optimised by the AC Schnitzer Bonnet Vents. These are enhanced further with chromed centre webs available as an option. In aesthetic terms, the AC Schnitzer aerodynamic conversion emphasises the expressive styling and reveals to the observer on first glance the universal sporting ambitions of the AC Schnitzer BMW X1.

Impressive design elements also lend a sporting and youthful note to the interior of the AC Schnitzer BMW X1. These elements include silver "Exclusiv" carbon interior trim, illuminated leather gear knob, aluminium gear knobs with or without digital gear display, "Black Line" aluminium cover for the i-Drive system controller, aluminium handbrake handle and pedal set, foot rests and velours foot mats.

The finishing touch comes from a set of attractive wheels, so the BMW X1 retains its stylish appearance not only on twisty or changing terrain, but also outside a fashionable cafe. An ideal choice is the brand-new Type VIII wheel in 19". The new wheel with its 5 double spokes in BiColor Finish is an evolution of the well-known Type VI wheel, and complements perfectly the styling language of the BMW X1. AC Schnitzer Type IV wheels in silver or in BiColor in 18, 19 or 20 inch, together with the Type VI rim in 18", complete the range available for the BMW X1.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-73354269523268220792009-07-22T11:26:00.000-07:002009-07-22T11:32:52.911-07:002008 AC Schnitzer BMW X6 Falcon

Territory Falcons are becoming increasingly common in town. Now a particularly imposing variant of the agile predator is conquering the road valleys with its broad wings: the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 Falcon. It follows the styling features of the X5 version of the same name, already successfully launched.

Engine - Exhaust

While birds generally sing in high keys, the bass engine note of the Falcon is more suggestive of a big cat. The twin-flow exhaust system in AC Schnitzer Racing Design however has an excellent resonance section. A lot of noise about nothing? On the contrary: thanks to the Control Unit, AC Schnitzer takes the series diesel engines, already excellent as standard, of types 30d and 35d to 200 kW / 272 HP instead of 173 kW / 235 HP, and 228 kW / 310 HP instead of 210 kW / 286 HP respectively.

The Suspension Technology

In other respects too the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 Falcon is perfectly adapted to its habitat. Instead of sweeping through the sky, it swept around the North Loop of the Nürburgring in numerous laps until the chassis developers and Engineering Director Manfred Wollgarten were totally satisfied with the setup of the new AC Schnitzer springs. Now the BMW X6 remains firmly on the ground even at speeds which a normal falcon only achieves in a nosedive. And of course, on every corner.

The Bodywork

Other identifying marks of the AC Schnitzer BMW X6 Falcon are the striking wing extensions of PU-RIM, a high quality plastic which is far more flexible and robust than for example GRP laminate or deep-drawn materials such as ABS. The dimensions of the X6 in the attractive lengthways format are 70 mm wider at the front axle and 80 mm wider at the rear. Downforce instead of lift, was the motto in the design of the impressive plumage, styled by Chief Designer Michele Viandante. The aerodynamics package includes a front skirt with diagonal air inlets, and repositioned fog lamps. The submarining protection has been removed in favour of a dynamically contoured spoiler edge. The Falcon rear now wears a solid skirt with edge frame. In contrast to the original, all components are painted in body colour throughout, so that the body appears drawn further down and hence more dominant. Instead of the submarining protection also originally fitted here, AC Schnitzer has opted for a rear diffuser and completed the effect with a new rear spoiler.

The Interior

Perfect handling with corresponding Look and Feel is achieved with the "EVO" 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel. For the interior there are velour foot mats available, together with the characteristic AC Schnitzer aluminium pedals and foot rests. The new design of an aluminium cover for the controller of the BMW "i-Drive system" neatly sets the finishing touch to the interior design.

The Wheels

Instead of the falconer's rings, the "legs" of the Falcon are decorated with the multipiece AC Schnitzer alloy wheels Type Vll. With black or silver paint and a dense sequence of spokes, the 22" rim perfectly complements the challenging appearance. The alternating spread angle of the web pairs gives a refined look. Decorated and equipped in this way, the AC Schnitzer Falcon really has no natural enemies out there.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-11999713296173102422009-07-22T11:21:00.001-07:002009-07-22T11:26:22.791-07:002008 AC Schnitzer BMW X5 Falcon

The falcon has always been a born fighter, the bird of warriors and a status symbol of the mighty and powerful. The peregrine falcon, with a dive speed of more than 200 km/h, is the fastest bird in the world. With its broad "wings" the AC Schnitzer BMW X5 Falcon also presents a majestic aura. The new widening kit for the front and rear wings perfectly harmonises with the existing accessory range.

While other cars rely on puffed-up looks the AC Schnitzer BMW X5 Falcon has a lot of power under the hardened plumage: the 3.0 litre diesel engine, which as standard delivers 210 kW and 286 HP, has been electronically upgraded by AC Schnitzer to give an impressive 228 kW/310 HP. The maximum torque has also risen from 580 to 680 Nm.

Behind the perfectly integrated, chromed tailpipe trims in "Racing" style - in the form of a horizontal figure of eight - lies the sonorous exhaust system with two sports rear silencers of V2A special steel.

Suspension Technology

With subtle lowering thanks to the new suspension kit, AC Schnitzer has given the BMW X5 Falcon impressive manoeuvrability of a level which is scarcely believable from such a mighty vehicle. Just like its natural namesake, famous for being able to change its direction in flight in a flash. So it's no surprise that the elegant falcon has virtually no natural predators.

Body Work

The new widening kit for the front and rear wings - as already mentioned - perfectly harmonises with the existing accessory range from the Aachen-based tuner.

Especially in combination with the front skirt element with its spoiler corners and indicated drive-under protection, at first sight it gives the SUV the supremely confident aura of the fighter.

The image of the "bird of prey" has been further emphasised by Designer Michele Viandante by the two triangular metal-rimmed air intakes in the bonnet.

And faced with the imposing rear end, who would dare to get too close to the AC Schnitzer BMW X5 Falcon? With its strong contours, the AC Schnitzer spoiler skirt has a muscular, masculine appearance.

Interior

The occupants of the AC Schnitzer BMW X5 Falcon however notice the performance from a different aspect. The interior range from AC Schnitzer includes not only a 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel and aluminium pedal set, but also numerous decor elements in carbon or aluminium.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-34780947736685646872009-07-22T11:12:00.001-07:002009-07-22T11:20:38.076-07:002008 AC Schnitzer BMW M3 Cabrio

The sun shines, the wind's in your hair and the engine note in your ears: almost no other vehicle on the road evokes such untrammelled emotions as the BMW M3 Convertible. Especially when the road leads via AC Schnitzer in Aachen. The 309 kW / 420 HP V8 engine is (as yet) untouched, but in the end, extra sporting performance can be achieved in a different way, as suspension guru Manfred Wollgarten knows: "With our racing suspension set up on the North Loop, we've thoroughly mastered the physics of driving".

The car is an out-and-out eyecatcher from the outside: with its new front skirt and strictly rectangular segments of the chromed grille insert, the vehicle has a strong, muscular look. The sporting presence is further underlined by the carbon spoiler lip with optional aluminium braces. The power dome on the bonnet hints at the powerful 4.0 litre V8. It is flanked by two AC Schnitzer Bonnet Vents, which emit a greedy intake howl during driving. At the sides, the open-air sports car shows its muscles in the form of flexibly moulded side skirts which emphasise the wheelarches.

The latter are perfectly filled by the 20" Type V lightweight forged rims. Their slender spokes give a clear view of the 8-pot high performance braking system by AC Schnitzer which mercilessly reins in the thrust when required. A deceleration performance which the AC Schnitzer BMW M3 Cabrio rarely needs for cornering, where it behaves totally neutrally.

A carbon rear diffuser helps the vehicle hunker down to the asphalt. The perfect driving experience is rounded off by the acoustic qualities of the powerful vehicle, provided by the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with chromed tailpipes in "Racing" design. The sonorous note of the cabrio is heard at its best in narrow road tunnels. If only the sun would shine a bit more often there!

And naturally AC Schnitzer maintains the motorsport atmosphere in the driver's workplace, with attractive and ergonomically designed aluminium elements for the gear knob and handbrake handle, pedals and i-Drive controller. A carbon interior trim and sports airbag steering wheels are available on request, together with velours mats.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-21478117676856325562009-07-22T11:07:00.001-07:002009-07-22T11:11:16.140-07:002008 AC Schnitzer ACS1 1-Series Cabrio

Viewed from its roof construction, the new BMW 1-series Cabrio is a classic softy. But under its soft shell lurks a hard masculine cornering machine which isn't pushed aside by anyone: especially in the AC Schnitzer version. As honed as a high performance athlete, the car cuts a fine figure even in the car park. The Aachen-based BMW-tuners have transplanted the muscles visually to the right places. In the end, the vehicle is an agile sprinter and not a bodybuilder who can scarcely move for power. At first glance, the new front skirt strikes you - it is less rounded than standard and runs into a slight taper. This, in combination with the diagonal grille insert, ensures a far more dynamic appearance. And naturally the Cabriolet not only has a neat front, but also a strong rear: The AC Schnitzer rear skirt lip or insert (for M-Technik version) provides an extra cross contour in comparison with the original, and hence a more "powerful" look. Underneath, a diffuser element highlights the sporting heritage of the vehicle. The final touch is given by the chromed tailpipe trim in "Racing" design, available for the 118i, 120i, 125i, 120d and 123d.

The fact that the sporting appearance is more than just Show & Shine becomes evident to the driver from a glance in the rearview mirror. Because the car behind grows smaller at record speed when you put your foot to the floor. In both petrol and diesel engine variants, the Aachen tuners inject any amount of power into the compact cabrio. Extra horsepower is available for the 135i, 120d and 123d. And because the standard speedo is sometimes overloaded with so much "unbridled" power, AC Schnitzer upgrades it to 320 km/h.

Any pursuer's hopes of overtaking the agile 1-series on the next corner are soon deflated by the AC Schnitzer suspension. The spring kit alone allows transverse acceleration which seems to go beyond the laws of physics. But fortunately physics doesn't issue penalty notices! Obstacles can be evaded more quickly and precisely with the complete sports suspension, or even circled completely with the height-adjustable racing suspension. The comfortable 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel from AC Schnitzer, and the further refined controls, always ensure that the car is a joy in your hands. All that remains for the final touch is a set of attractive wheels, and the 1-series will be dressed to take centre stage not just on twisty roads but also in front of the latest trendy café or bar. The 18" Type VI with its exciting re-interpretation of the classic Y-spoke design is an ideal choice of decor for the cabrio, as is the delicate but sporting Type IV in either 18" or 19", in silver or "BiColor". Following the history of the MINI, we will concentrate on special developments in the area of performance upgrades, sports rear silencer, sports suspension, exterior components and Interior details.

Engines - Exhaust

The present focus of our activities is the new 170 HP turbo engine in the Cooper S, for which we develop a performance upgrade. And when the driver puts the power down, the sound track plays loud and clear, thanks to the sonorous twin sports silencer with chromed Racing tailpipe.

The Suspension Technology

Full gas to the next corner - and through it at full speed! Touring Car legend Manfred Wollgarten set up the AC Schnitzer racing suspension on the North Loop of the Nürburgring - and it runs rings round the already very good standard suspension. You can feel the difference just with the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit

The Bodywork

Back from the track to the city, where the reflective glass facades flashes the face of a model athlete. AC Schnitzer achieves this masterpiece with a few tricks. The front bumper has a new front spoiler. The front bumper has a new front spoiler. Painted in body colour, and with its striking prominent corners, it sets a clear visual highlight. The sassy rear has also been subtly lifted. The rear skirt from AC Schnitzer, painted in contrast to standard, has a diffuser which effectively pulls the MINI down to the tarmac.

The Interior

And naturally the enthusiastic MINI fan has a wealth of matching accessories for the interior. Such as aluminium handbrake handle, aluminium gear shift knob (aluminium/chrome), aluminium foot rest, aluminium and pedal set as well as velours floor mats - naturally from AC Schnitzer.

The Wheels

Two sporting wheel designs, the Mi1 in the classic AC Schnitzer look in 7.5J x 17" and the brand-new Bicolor wheel Mi2 in 7.5 x18" complete the sporting range for the MINI R56. The new AC Schnitzer Mi2 BiColor alloy, with its ultramodern styling combined with the highest standards in materials, production methods and driving dynamics, is now available as a one-piece variant for all MINI vehicles. Naturally the new Mi2 BiColor wheel generation fits the current and the antecessor MINI vehicles. For tyres, we recommend high performance tyres from Continental and Michelin in size 215/35 R 18 or optionally in 205/40 R 18.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-29418019806228809102009-07-22T10:50:00.000-07:002009-07-22T11:00:28.687-07:002007 AC Schnitzer GP3.10 Concept

Driving pleasure has been written large at AC Schnitzer for 20 years. And thankfully, nothing will change for the 62nd Motor Show in Frankfurt. But this goal can be reached in a totally alternative way, as the launch of the superb AC Schnitzer GP3.10 Gas Powered shows. This high-performance coupe has LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) drive, where power and efficiency, economy and ecology, meet in an exciting study.

As if the extravagant exterior of the project vehicle, based on the current 3-series coupe, were not enough, under the bonnet growls the V10 engine of the current M5/M6, which AC Schnitzer is presenting at the show for the first time in bivalent design. The vehicle has a fully sequential LPG system with two parallel 5-cylinder vaporizers. There's no loss of power or dynamics. The engine, tuned with a remapped control unit and modified exhaust tract with sports catalyst and exhaust manifold, develops 552 bhp and produces up to 400 lb-ft at the crankshaft. In itself, that's 45 horses more than the M5/M6. But why power this car with LPG?

Liquified Petroleum Gas is a sensible alternative to normal petrol fuel, both economically and ecologically, and - after corresponding conversion - can be burned in almost any petrol engine. Per liter, LPG is not only cheaper than petrol but produces around 15 percent less CO2 from the exhaust. With over 2700 filling stations in Germany alone, fuel supplies are guaranteed everywhere, and the 80 liter gas tank fits on board with the original 60 liter petrol tank. So you can switch between fuels at any time. In any case, acceleration is more than just acceptable. The sprint to 60 mph takes 4.3 seconds, and the 124 mph mark is passed after just 13.9 seconds. Only at 200 mph does the pressure on your back begin to ease. It's nimble enough to show the rear lights to many powerful sports cars. Especially when a racing suspension from Aachen provides incredible handling qualities. And to match the power of the acceleration, there's the brakes on the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 Gas Powered: at the front, 8-pot fixed caliper brakes with perforated and vented discs size 374 x 36 mm, at the rear a 4-pot brake system with 350 x 24 mm discs.

Talking of slowing down: the striking body design will soon bring passers-by to a stop. In conjunction with the mineral green special paintwork, the AC Schnitzer aerodynamic kit is a real eye-catcher. The air intakes on the front wings, with their characteristic chrome ribs, and the rear 60 mm wheelarch extensions, are particularly successful. With the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 Gas Powered, AC Schnitzer has created a feast for all the senses, where the centrally positioned sports rear silencer with its sonorous crescendo takes center stage acoustically.

The rear styling with its special contours and the rear skirt with integral diffuser, the rear roof wing with carbon centre part, are as aesthetically pleasing as the powerful front skirt with its coarsemesh sports grille. The latter makes an effective contribution to the breathing of the oxygen-hungry five-liter engine. Equally breathtaking for the spectator is the first sight of the racing rims Type VI.

The latest creation from the Aachen wheel manufacturer combines the classic Y-spoke appearance with five striking hollow spokes and bicolor finish. Naturally these decorative elements are not just available for the AC Schnitzer GP3.10 Gas Powered. For the moment however the latter is a unique creation not for sale, with an estimated value of $270,000. But we can still get excited because numerous components will soon find their way into the regular AC Schnitzer range. Parts of the exciting sports interior can already be ordered, for example, by customers with a 3-series coupe.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-28436073246184365802009-07-22T10:43:00.000-07:002009-07-22T10:50:22.593-07:002007 AC Schnitzer BMW Z4 Profile Concept

Take the first ascent of the 8,848 metre high Mount Everest, the expeditions to the poles or the dive into the 11 km deep canyon of the Mariana Trench. There have always been individuals and extreme characters who have pushed our boundaries and discovered new terrain. An extreme region for automotive tuners, where only a few venture, has always been the BMW M-series cars, in particular the uncompromising Z4 M-Coupé, a thoroughbred driving machine.

But the fact that the limits of this extraordinary car are far from reached is evident from the new concept vehicle by AC Schnitzer - the PROFILE - even at first glance. Classic engine tuning hauls the power of the high-revving six-cylinder in-line plant to a robust 350 HP. Not only is a special "active breathing" airbox used, but the engine control unit has been remapped. But power alone isn't enough to get the maximum from an athletic heart. So the modified rear axle ratio of 3.91:1 provides better sprint capacity, while the perfectly smooth transmission with the AC Schnitzer Short Shift ensures crisp changes by the driver.

And as you listen to the sonorous baritone note of the left/right sports exhaust system with the trapezoid tailpipes, you could be deceived into thinking that the driver is not changing gears, but playing some kind of a musical instrument. A feast for all the senses: Visually the stunning colour combination of white-orange casts its spell and perfectly enhances the exquisite contours of the AC Schnitzer bodykit. From the front skirt with its suggestive cup-wings via the widened wheelarches and flanks with the gill-like vents - as already used on the legendary BMW 507- the dynamic line is drawn over the bulging side skirts to the rear skirt with carbon diffuser.

The whole is crowned by a rear spoiler and a fascinatingly styled roof wing. The forged alloy Type V wheels from the standard AC Schnitzer collection are a work of art in themselves. Filigree design yet with an air of solidity, in size 9.0J x 20" at the front and 10.0J x 20" at the rear, these wheels are the perfect adornment combined with tyres size 235/30 ZR 20 front and 295/25 ZR 20 rear.

But traction alone isn't everything, and the dynamics are supported by the AC Schnitzer suspension with its racing heritage, set up in the Green Hell of the Nürburgring. An aluminium strut brace in "Racing" style not only catches the eye but limits the torsion of the front body. Thanks to the AC Schnitzer racing seats, the driver always holds position. And the carbon interior trim and pedal set, with decor elements of aluminium, radiate pure racing flair. Could there be a better place to experience the limits of potential?

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-1660863240073936262009-07-22T10:38:00.001-07:002009-07-22T10:43:34.628-07:002007 AC Schnitzer ACS4 Z4 Sport Coupe

Now that the Z4 Roadster has undergone a facelift and at the same time the M-variant, the Z4 M Roadster, was launched, the model range has been completed with a new Z4 Coupé and MCoupé. This design is reserved exclusively for M-vehicles and was previously seen on both the M5 and M6.

Faster and more precise gear shifts promote the adrenalin rush and perceptibly improve acceleration in a car. So the AC Schnitzer Short Shift has been adapted for the BMW Z4 3.0i, 3.0si and M-versions with manual transmission.

For safe control at all times of the driving performance of the new BMW Z4 models, except M-variants, a special high performance brake system has been developed for the front. Last but not least, foot mats with the AC Schnitzer logo, made from high quality velours, complete the range.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-49546811062285655002009-07-22T10:25:00.001-07:002009-07-22T10:30:47.155-07:002007 AC Schnitzer ACS3 Sport BMW M3

When beads of perspiration form on the brow of experienced sports car drivers, it's not necessarily down to a faulty air conditioning system. With the 420 V8-HP of the BMW M3, the ACS3 Sport catapults even its keenest challengers into the rear view mirror. The sporting coupé is ideal for anyone seeking to gain advantage on twisting tracks. A normal M3 would be a tough competitor here, because in comparison with the "civilised" 3-series Coupé it has a totally different axle construction. With racing suspension developed on the legendary Nürburgring, AC Schnitzer has succeeded in refining the handling potential of the chassis even further. And fitted with the Short Shift from Aachen, the ACS3 Sport becomes the automotive hero of the day: No-one is changing gears faster!

Best of all: The vehicle loses nothing of its qualities as a daily driver. Instead, AC Schnitzer magics even more M-otion into everyday life, for example when the Aachen exhaust system plays its bewitching baritone in a road tunnel. The left/right system with two tailpipes per side, linked into a horizontal figure of eight, is however a visual work of art. In a play on the mathematical symbol for "infinity", at the same time it symbolises the powerful reserves of the vehicle which reaches 100 km/h from a standing start in an effortless 4.8 seconds. No less carefully arranged are the aerodynamic attachments, which for AC Schnitzer are always more than mere visual decoration. At the rear, a diffuser of visible carbon presses the car down onto the tarmac as if there were magnets below the road surface. The front spoiler is also made from this high quality material, and is supported against the front skirt with alloy struts as in motorsport. Further downforce is provided by a subtle rear roof spoiler and rear wing which also give the body exciting new contours. Side skirt extensions, in particular when combined with the white paint of the photo model, give the profile an aura of stature and dynamism. Finally the AC Schnitzer racing rims Type VI embody pure culture, on the ACS3 Sport in sizes 9.0J x 20" on the front and 10.5J x 20" on the rear. The combination of Y-spokes and contrasting five fork spokes superimposed in two planes, produces a design that is as exciting as it is elegant.

Further highlights of course include the forged wheel Type V in 20". With its strikingly curved, interrupted spokes, it not only looks superb but thanks to the lightweight construction method, keeps the unsprung weight to a minimum. A no less attractive alternative is the Type IV racing wheel in silver - and with trendy black finish as "Magic Black".

And naturally AC Schnitzer continues the theme of sports performance in the driver's workplace, offering attractive and ergonomically perfect aluminium controls for the gearknob, handbrake handle, pedals and i-Drive controller. A carbon interior trim and sports airbag steering wheel are also available on request.
<br for the latest member of the 3-series family. The range comprises aerodynamic components in sports elegant design, performance upgrades and silencers, alloy wheels in various designs and sizes, specially developed suspension solutions and numerous interesting accessories for the interior.

As for all current BMW models with 3.0d engine (M47 D30 O2), we will shortly be offering a diesel performance upgrade for the 3-series coupé. An additional control module provides 195 kW / 265 HP and a maximum torque of 550 Nm (standard 170 kW / 231 HP, 500 Nm), so acceleration from 0 - 100 km/h takes just 6.1 instead of 6.6 seconds. The top speed limit of 250 km/h however is retained in the ACS3 3.0d performance upgrade.

In order to provide AC Schnitzer performance upgrades for the 335d and 335i with the new Twin Turbo technology, totally new developments are required. These are currently still in the first stages of the extensive test phase.

Despite the perceptible increase in power, the excellent driving behaviour, moderate fuel consumption and superb stability remain unchanged with both performance upgrades. Even without engine tuning, we recommend fitting the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer which - depending on base model - is available as a single system or in right-left combination. In each case all AC Schnitzer sports rear silencers are made of special steel and are supplemented with chromed Racing tailpipe trims. For a purely aesthetic conversion, tailpipe trims are also available "solo" for some models.

The AC Schnitzer bodystyling components for the 3-series coupé stand out not only because of their sporting new design line, but also because of the perfect fit and ease of painting that are the result of the use of high quality PU-Rim. The new 3-series coupé has a strikingly contoured front spoiler that not only enhances the appearance with its sporting elegant design - at the same time it increases downforce on the front axle. For the rear axle, the aerodynamic highlights of a rear roof spoiler, a one-piece rear wing and a rear skirt with stylised diffuser profile are now in development. Naturally the latter optimally integrates the various exhaust styles.

Another development for the coupé is the side skirts which give the side lines a more striking and elongated appearance. Optionally the side skirts can be highlighted with a Chromeline Set.

The wheelarches of the 3-series coupé provide space for the AC Schnitzer Type II, Type III and Type IV alloy and racing rims from 18 to 20" diameter.

As maximum size, the coupé can be fitted with AC Schnitzer racing rims Type IV in 9.0J x 20" ET 35 or ET 26 on the rear with tyres 245/30 R 20 all round. For tyres, we recommend high performance tyres from Continental and Michelin.

The suspension components have been specially set up for the use of the wheel and tyre combinations. Depending on personal preference, the owner of a 3-series coupé of model range E92 can choose between pure suspension springs and a complete, performance-comfort set sports suspension which lowers the BMW by around 25 mm.

The suspension concept developed in extensive tests on the North Loop of the Nürburgring also includes the AC Schnitzer sports antiroll bars for the rear axle and aluminium strut braces for front and rear.

For the interior of the coupé, an extensive range of high-quality accessories is available. For example, the cockpit can be enhanced with an ergonomically designed 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel for vehicles with or without multifunction. There is also a carbon steering wheel trim in silver Exclusive.

Another highlight in the interior is the AC Schnitzer combi instrument with speedometer display up to 300 km/h.

Footrests and pedals of aluminium create a more exclusive atmosphere in the cockpit together with the AC Schnitzer carbon interior trim in silver Exclusive. The aluminium gear knob, handbrake handle and cover for the BMW "i-Drive System" are available in silver or black anodized finish. Velours foot mats complete the range.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-58596638655444890362009-07-22T10:04:00.000-07:002009-07-22T10:10:26.190-07:002007 AC Schnitzer ACS1 BMW 1-Series Coupe

Not only in proportions is the new 1-series Coupé a worthy successor to the BMW 2002, but also technically: As in the 70s, the current most powerful standard version is powered by a "charged" engine. Daringly, the overtaking prestige was then enhanced further by the mirror-image Turbo logo on the front spoiler. In the 1-series Coupé, the possibilities are more refined, not least thanks to AC Schnitzer from Aachen. And naturally the company founded in Aachen in 1987 has made more than its logo available in its refinement package. Particularly impressive is the extensive AC Schnitzer bodykit including front grille, which is far more than mere decoration, but also effectively harmonised into the entire concept. The front spoiler elements and the rear skirt insert, together with the rear wing and rear roof spoiler, increase downforce and ensure better ground adhesion. For the front spoiler elements, AC Schnitzer supplies optional aluminium struts as used in motorsport - after all, the BMW 2002 was renowned for its track speed at the time. And it is on one particularly legendary circuit, the Nürburgring North Loop, that Manfred Wollgarten, Technical Director at AC Schnitzer, set up the sports suspension for the ACS1 3.5i. As a Touring Car driver, he knows what he's doing. He also sent the Coupé on its way with another strut brace for the front, to further reduce the torsion of a body already very stiff as standard. So at every point on the course, the driver has total control over the vehicle to centimetre precision when he turns the neat AC Schnitzer 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel. And that's good, because finally the unrestrained power of the biturbo engine is applied on the right track. Especially since AC Schnitzer has not only improved the downforce of the vehicle, but also its thrust. Its heart now beats at 360 instead of 306 HP (265 instead of 225 kW) and accelerates the fiery 1-series Coupé to 100 km/h in less than five seconds. At the same time, the maximum torque rises from 400 to 450 Nm and the top speed from 250 to an impressive 300 km/h.

Values which you can not only see but also hear because the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with its refined "Racing" tailpipe sounds its baritone. It goes almost without saying that AC Schnitzer also offers a range of sporting alloy wheels for the ACS1 3.5i. The perfect complement with their sleek and refined design are the Type IV "BiColor" rims in size 8.5Jx19" and tyres 225/35R19. The stuff of dreams for drivers of the BMW 2002, just like the countless attractive interior components from AC Schnitzer in the form of controls and decor elements of aluminium and carbon.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-28006141640345639802009-07-22T09:59:00.001-07:002009-07-22T10:04:25.047-07:002006 AC Schnitzer Tension Street Version

Naturally the "small brother" could not be a 1 : 1 copy of the Concept Car, as the TENSION is a technology showcase which demonstrates what is technically feasible. In contrast, the TENSION Street Version had to incorporate suitability for everyday use with no loss of driving pleasure or reliability.

The focal point of the development work was adaptation of the breathtaking, costly aerodynamic conversion for series production.

The bonnet of the AC Schnitzer TENSION, restyled from the standard 6-series, is used on the Street Version. It reveals at first glance, from its large air outlet edged in a chrome frame, that the ventilation of the power plant is actively supported by sufficient cooling air flow .

The front skirt of the TENSION technology showcase has been completely adapted. It makes the TENSION Street Version look much lower and at the same time improves downforce on the front axle at high speeds. The air intake provides additional cooling for the engine and the front brakes and also gives the TENSION Street Version its unmistakeable facial expression .

To provide sufficient ventilation for the power plant, the new front wing has integral air outlet openings which with their three chrome ribs and the indicators are reminiscent of a shark's mouth.

Adequate air exchange is essential not only in the front of the vehicle in order to develop its full potential. The same principle applies to the rear .

Consequently, in the TENSION Street Version too air ducts for the rear brakes have been worked into the striking side skirts . The side skirts which give the vehicle its elongated appearance form the smooth transition to the rear , which on the TENSION Street Version in comparison with the Concept Car is still very sporting but slightly less lavish.

The rear skirt houses not just the solid stainless steel twin exhaust system with chromed Sports Trim tailpipes but also a carbon diffuser .

Another highlight at the rear of the TENSION Street Version is the boot lid which was originally reserved for the TENSION. But its modified styling gives the rear of the BMW 6-series the " Finishing Touch ", so the new boot lid is now a firm part of the Street Version conversion.

The bodystyling of the TENSION Street Version is completed by the AC Schnitzer sports mirrors and the extravagant two-colour paintwork in Alpine White in combination with Anthracite Metallic . Naturally other paint options are available on request.

What does a costly aerodynamic conversion look like without the right wheel and tyre combination? We think it's incomplete. So we decided to equip the TENSION Street Version with the latest AC Schnitzer wheel generation : the forged alloy Type V .

Appearance is one thing, but much more important in this context is the safety aspect. To take this into account, and secondly to meet the high technical demands placed on the AC Schnitzer wheel by our engineers, a complete new wheel development was required.

The result is the Type V alloy forged wheel with bi-colour finish . It has a partly polished, partly painted surface . This wheel type, available for all 5 and 6-series, achieves a fundamental paradox: reduction in weight with simultaneously maximum wheel diameter and width.

The TENSION Street Version is fitted with rims size 9.0J x 20" on the front and 10.0J x 20" on the rear, and each front wheel weighs in at just approx. 10.8 kg . The tyres to fit the wheels are size 245/35 ZR 20 on the front and 285/30 ZR 20 on the rear .

In conjunction with the wheel and tyre combination, a sports suspension has been developed for the TENSION Street Version which lowers the vehicle by around 25 - 30 mm and perceptibly improves driving dynamics . For the M6, a suspension spring kit is available.

To counter lateral roll, AC Schnitzer antiroll bar sets are fitted to the front and rear axles . Another suspension highlight is our in-house spring strut brace of aluminium which superbly prevents distortion in the vehicle front .

Depending on base vehicle, the TENSION Street Version can be fitted optionally with the new AC Schnitzer 5.1 l engine . This is available in principle for all BMW 6-series with N62 B44 or N62 B48 TU engines.

The new engine offers a true alternative to the M5 or M6 . As this conversion is also available for vehicles with automatic transmission , fans of automatics can now enjoy the higher power in conjunction with the pleasures of an automatic .

Whereas the basic engine gives maximum torques of 450 or 490 Nm , the AC Schnitzer 5.1 l engine achieves 550 Nm . Naturally the performance has been optimised. It rises from 245 kW (333 HP) or 270 kW (367 HP) to a superb 302 kW (411 HP) . At the same time, driving performance is enhanced. The top speed rises on average by around 35 km/h .

These excellent figures are obtained by the use of specially developed engine components. Individually, these are:
AC Schnitzer special cylinder block
AC Schnitzer special cylinder head
AC Schnitzer special pistons
AC Schnitzer special conrods
AC Schnitzer special crankshaft
AC Schnitzer exhaust manifold
AC Schnitzer special catalyst
AC Schnitzer Control Unit Program
AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with chromed Sports Trim tailpipes

To achieve excellent deceleration figures , the AC Schnitzer high performance brake system from the TENSION has been modified. At the front axle , an 8-pot fixed caliper with perforated, vented brake discs and special pads ensures braking with ruthless efficiency. However, this kit is reserved for the Street Versions based on BMW M6.

Only the interior remains, and this too has been modified in typical AC Schnitzer fashion: Starting with the carbon interior trim in titanium via the 3-spoke airbag sports steering wheel in leather with carbon applications , the automatic selector lever in carbon , the new combi-instrument with a speed display up to 320 or 330 km/h , through to velours mats for footwell and boot with red embroidered logo : this all gives the characteristic look to the interior of the TENSION Street Version. The overall impression is completed with silver or black anodized aluminium accessories comprising pedal set, foot rests, handbrake handle and cover for the controller of the "i-Drive" systems .

Last but not least, the silver serial number on the black anodized aluminium placard on the centre console permanently reminds the driver that he is sitting in a very special car: e.g. TENSION Street Version no. 1/50.

The AC Schnitzer TENSION Street Version is available in various levels. The conversion work is performed exclusively by AC Schnitzer in Aachen. The only exceptions are the USA and Japan, where trained specialists perform the vehicle conversion locally.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-59806723100718316932009-07-22T09:54:00.001-07:002009-07-22T09:58:47.696-07:002006 AC Schnitzer ACS7 7Series E65

Luxury and excellent driving properties - the new BMW 7-series combines these two attributes like no other luxury saloon. Owners of this model who want even more sporting performance have come to the right place at AC Schnitzer.
Our engineers and designers are currently developing an aerodynamically optimised body kit for the new facelift variant of the E65 / E66, and adapting the suspension specifically for the use of AC Schnitzer wheels up to size 22".
In the interior, the enthusiastic driver will appreciate the generous use of aluminium in various applications. The high performance exhaust system completes the image of the sports saloon both visually and acoustically, and ensure improved exhaust gas flow.

The luxury saloon becomes even more attractive thanks to the elegant aerodynamic kit. The front of the car stands out with its new striking skirt with grille which has benefits beyond the visual: it improves downforce on the front axle, which is particularly evident at high speeds with more stable driving behaviour.
As an option, a Chromeline Set is available for fitting around the radiator grille.

The rear is enhanced by a new design of rear skirt available in two designs to suit customer preferences. In the first stage the exhaust is invisible as on the standard vehicle. In the second variant, a corresponding cut-out ensures harmonious integration of the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer with chromed tailpipe trim. A Chromeline Set is available for both versions to accentuate the lines of the rear skirt.

The visual and aerodynamic balance is further enhanced by a rear roof spoiler, a one-piece rear spoiler and mirror covers. The front and rear of the vehicle are linked by the AC Schnitzer side skirts which can be further refined by the Chromeline Set.

The AC Schnitzer alloy wheels in various designs and sizes provide both increased driving pleasure and a more attractive appearance.
Alloy wheels are available in Type II and Type IV designs, and racing rims in Type II, III and IV. And if you want even larger and wider, you can fit up to size 22". The maximum wheel and tyre combination we offer is the AC Schnitzer alloys Type II in 10.5J x 22" with tyres 265/30 R 22 on the front and 295/25 R 22 on the rear. The standard tyres can still be fitted with size 19" wheels. We recommend Continental and Michelin tyres.

For improved driving dynamics compared with the standard car while retaining the existing high level of comfort, we have developed suspension spring kits with progressive special springs. The resulting lowering by 25 millimetres improves the cornering abilities of the saloon even further.

For the interior there are 4-spoke sports airbag steering wheels and velour foot mats available, together with the characteristic AC Schnitzer aluminium pedals and foot rests.
The new design of an aluminium cover for the controller of the BMW
"i-Drive system" in the style of the Type IV wheel neatly sets the finishing touch to the interior design.

The complete AC Schnitzer special accessory range for the BMW 7-series facelift is expected to be available from Autumn 2005 - and the equally complete range for the non-facelift model is of course available immediately.

Psychologically, tension means excited expectation or apprehension of a proposed event which is either particularly desired or feared.
Physically, tension describes a force within a resilient body.
Mechanical tension (symbol σ) is the force per surface unit which acts in an imaginary section plane through a body, a fluid or a gas.
Tension is also the most important instrument of playwrights and authors for motivating the viewer and reader to watch and read further.

The applicaton of all these different definitions to a single vehicle - viewed from all aspects - is demonstrated by AC Schnitzer at the IAA 2005 with the Concept Car:

TENSION

The basis for the extensive conversion could only be one vehicle: the 507 HP BMW M6, which underwent a performance upgrade as the first development stage. Optimising the entire engine management system and fitting a new AC Schnitzer exhaust manifold system with special catalyst, sports rear silencer with chromed tailpipe trims in right/left combination in "Sports Trim Design" help the TENSION achieve an incredible 406 kW / 552 HP. The Sports Trim Design will also shortly be included in the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer range exclusively for the new BMW M vehicles.

Even more imposing than the pure engine power is the maximum torque of 540 Nm at 6200 rpm, which pushes the driver back in the seat and catapults the TENSION explosively to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The AC Schnitzer Vmax delimiter means that the acceleration thrust continues to 325 km/h before the speedo needle can relax - where driving conditions allow.

Conversely of course tremendous forces are also necessary to bring the TENSION back to a standstill. To achieve good deceleration values, development of an AC Schnitzer high performance braking system was essential. On the front axle this takes the uncompromising form of an 8-pot fixed caliper with slotted and vented brake disks in 374 mm diameter and with 36 mm thick brake discs. On the rear axle, a 4-pot fixed caliper is used in conjunction with the standard brake discs.

For both acceleration and deceleration, it is the wheels which are permanently under full load in all manoeuvres. To take account firstly of the safety aspect and secondly to fulfil the high technical requirements imposed on the new Concept Car by our engineers, a completely new wheel had to be developed.

The result is the AC Schnitzer "Forged Wheel": a lightweight forged wheel with bi-colour finish, i.e. it has a part polished, part painted surface. The forged wheel embodies an apparent contradiction: reduction in weight with at the same time the largest possible diameters and widths.

The TENSION is fitted with wheels size 10.0J x 20" all round. The offsets of -12 on the front and -2 on the rear allow tyres of size 285/30 ZR 20 and 325/25 ZR 20 respctively, of type MICHELIN Pilot Sport 2.
The weight of the front wheel is approx. 10 kg and the rear wheel 10.8 kg. But the AC Schnitzer Forged Wheels are not reserved exclusively for the TENSION. From December 2005 this new wheel type will also enrich the AC Schnitzer range for the BMW 5-series and 6-series.

In motorsport the right Set Up often makes the difference between first and second places, and our engineers put particular importance on optimum chassis set-up. In the AC Schnitzer TENSION, driving dynamics are decisively improved by the special development of an adjustable AC Schnitzer racing suspension. As well as lowering by 30 mm in relation to its standard brother M6, the spring and damper rates have been clearly modified towards sporting performance.
To counter lateral roll movements the AC Schnitzer antiroll bar kits are fitted to the front and rear axles. A further suspension highlight is the specially developed strut brace in aluminiumcarbon combination, which perfectly prevents torsion in the vehicle front.

The TENSION body conversion is absolutely breathtaking, and is totally dedicated to optimising the aerodynamics. A further focal point of the development was the improvement of the air supply and extraction for the power plant and braking system.

The redesigned bonnet of the AC Schnitzer TENSION reveals at first sight - through its striking power bulge and large air outlets - that it conceals an extremely powerful engine which requires maximum cold air flow especially at full load.
Another totally new development is the front skirt which makes the TENSION look even lower and further increases downforce on the front axle at high speeds. Its large air intake provides additional cooling for the engine and front brakes, and gives the TENSION its unmistakeable visual expression.
To provide additional venting for the V10 engine, large air outlet openings have been provided in the new front wings, where the 3 chromed ribs and LED flashers are reminiscent of a shark's mouth.

Adequate air flow is essential for the TENSION to develop its full potential not only in the front of the car: this principle naturally also applies to the rear.

Consequently air ducts for the rear brakes have been worked into the striking side skirts; these skirts not only give the TENSION a more elongated appearance but also ensure a harmonious transition to the huge rear.
The rear skirt accommodates not only the twin exhaust system made totally of stainless steel with chromed Sports Trim tailpipes but also a unique underfloor wing construction with diffuser.

The driver of the AC Schnitzer TENSION has the option of actively changing the vehicle aerodynamics to suit his needs. This is achieved through two interchangeable carbon diffusers which meet the differing needs for downforce on a track or when driving on country roads. The fast action aluminium catches mean that this conversion can be made effortlessly by the driver and the unused diffuser can be carried in a special holder in the boot so conversion can be spontaneous.
The same applies also to the rear wing of the TENSION. This too was designed as a mobile option for the track and has its place either in the boot or, using fast action catches, on the specially redesigned boot lid.
The boot lid of the TENSION is a real eyecatcher even without the rear wing. In contrast to the standard car, it comes without integral rear spoiler, giving smoother lines to the vehicle rear.

The body concept, which makes the TENSION 25 mm wider on each side, is complemented by the AC Schnitzer sports mirrors and the extravagant two-colour paint in Magic Orange Metallic with Carbon Grey.
The AC Schnitzer engineers are currently planning to include in the range a "softened" version of the TENSION aerodynamic concept for the M6, which is now in development.

The interior of the AC Schnitzer TENSION is a combination of developments from the AC Schnitzer range which are available for many BMW models, and special one-off products. The latter include amongst others the racing seats in leather with AC Schnitzer logo and the carbon interior trim in Magic Orange. The 3-spoke airbag sports steering wheel in leather is also fitted. The selector gaiter and handbrake handle are finished in Alcantara with black seams.
The arm rests in the doors and on the centre console are finished in Magic Orange leather to match the paintwork. Velours foot mats with embroidered TENSION logo complete the interior. The aluminium accessories consisting of pedal set, foot rests, handbrake handle and a cover for the controller of the "i-Drive" system are however an established part of the AC Schnitzer range.

The AC Schnitzer TENSION was developed as a technology platform. This Concept Car in the equipment level and form shown here would cost around € 260,000.00. There are no plans for series production.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1752971263080956538.post-9155522453936142982009-07-22T09:05:00.001-07:002009-07-22T09:09:36.517-07:002005 AC Schnitzer ACS5 Sport M5 E60

The figure "507" has been legendary in BMW history for many years. More precisely since 1956, when the designer Albrecht Graf Goertz created an automotive dream, the BMW 507 Roadster.
Today, almost 50 years later, the figure "507" again has a magic significance: this time not as a model designation but as the impressive HP figure of the new BMW V10 engine.

This time the automotive dream is called "M5" and is not just one car - it's at least two.
Firstly a comfortable luxury saloon and secondly an agile sports car - the M5 is both. But primarily it's always exactly what the driver wants, at the push of a button.

This concept, already excellent in standard form, has been perfected by the development of the AC Schnitzer special accessory range. This meant also that some components did not need perfecting - this applies primarily to the powerful engine. The V10 high performance machine remains unchanged even after the "AC Schnitzer treatment".

Only in the area of the exhaust system attached to the engine did AC Schnitzer see room for improvement. The newly developed AC Schnitzer double sports rear silencer made completely from stainless steel and finished with the equally new chromed tailpipe trims in "Sports Trim" design, gives the BMW M5 a far more powerful and sonorous voice than its standard brother.
At the same time, the gas flow is optimised and the response behaviour perceptibly improved.
The "Sports Trim" rear silencer is an exclusive development for the new BMW M-series - not only for the M5 but also for the M6.

The driving dynamics of the BMW M5 are further improved by the use of the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit. As well as simply lowering the vehicle by around 25 mm, which lowers the centre of gravity of the BMW M5, the spring kit allows spirited cornering in the M5 with no loss of driving comfort.

In addition, the BMW M5 can be fitted with racing rims and alloy wheels in various designs and sizes.
For one-piece monoblock variants, wheels in Type III and IV are available in sizes 8.5J x 19" to 9.5J x 19".
Even more exclusive are the AC Schnitzer racing rims in Types III and IV, which have been tested in many different sizes from 19" through 20" and in the top version even up to size 9.0J and 10.0J x 21".

One absolute highlight in the AC Schnitzer wheel sector is the new "Forged Wheel". This lightweight forged wheel with bi-colour finish - i.e. partly polished, partly lacquered surface achieves an apparent fundamental paradox: reduction in weight, and at the same time maximum wheel diameter and width.

This masterpiece is achieved by the AC Schnitzer engineers and designers in the "Forged Wheel", whose design - although unmistakeably related to the Type IV wheel - is totally unique. The "Forged Wheel" is expected to be available from December 2005 in sizes 9.0J x 20" and 10.0J x 20" for the BMW M5 and will be fitted with tyres of size 245/35 R 20 or 285/30 R 20 on the rear.

The weight of the front wheel is approx. 10 kg and the rear wheel 10.8 kg.
For tyres for all wheel variants we recommend high performance tyres from Continental and Michelin.

Although the appearance of the vehicle already becomes more exclusive by fitting the AC Schnitzer wheels, we also offer aerodynamically efficient modifications to the bodywork.

For the M5, a carbon front splitter has been developed which can be firmly attached to the front spoiler with chromed aluminium webs. This individual solution not only gives the sports saloon a more striking outfit but also improves downforce on the front axle.
In addition, the new AC Schnitzer chrome front grille can be fitted, which naturally meets the high air intake requirements of the BMW V10 engine. At the same time it gives the BMW M5 a touch retro look, reminiscent of a legendary "shark's mouth".

Aerodynamic balance is achieved by the rear roof spoiler, the one-piece rear spoiler and the carbon rear diffuser which is integrated into the rear skirt. The latter also impressively integrates the AC Schnitzer sports rear silencer "Sports Trim".
Used in conjunction, all aerodynamic aids ensure higher downforce for the BMW M5, so that with the entire AC Schnitzer aerodynamic conversion the vehicle is perceptibly more stable and its appearance harmonises with its sporting performance ambitions.

For the interior, a carbon interior trim is available in titanium "Exclusive" finish, a 3-spoke sports airbag steering wheel or velours foot mats together with the characteristic AC Schnitzer aluminium pedals and footrests or the handbrake handle.
The new design of an aluminium cover for the controller of the BMW "i-Drive System" in the design of the Type IV wheel sets the finishing touch.

The complete AC Schnitzer special accessory range for the BMW M5 is expected to be available from Winter 2005.
<br True to the motto "The driving force", the 3-series sets the standards for driving pleasure in a new dimension. To quote the worldwide motoring press in countless road tests in the run-up to the official launch, a simple formula defines the 3-series:
Comfort + High Quality Engineering + Sports Performance = E90

So the 3-series offers a superb basis for creating an AC Schnitzer ACS3 from an already excellent BMW.

It is precisely this challenge which currently faces our engineers and designers. They are working at full speed to develop a range which on completion will leave nothing to be desired .

The first challenge is to develop a performance upgrade for the 2.0d . This will comprise a special Control Unit Program and take the power of the M47D20 TU standard engine to around 147 kW / 200 HP .

For all engine variants - with or without performance upgrade - we are developing a sports rear silencer made from stainless steel which will improve the exhaust gas flow . The "chromed" finish comes from the Racing tailpipe , which will not only be part of the silencer but is also available already for purely visual enhancement as a chromed tailpipe trim.

To further improve the driving dynamics in the 3-series, our engineers are currently working on a wealth of sports suspension components . The first step, already successfully completed, was the implementation of a spring kit which lowers the vehicle by around 25 - 30 mm .
In the next stage, the specifications for the suspension engineers include a complete sports suspension and antiroll bar kit with racing strut brace for the front. The complete modification will perceptibly improve the driving behaviour of the new 3-series for more sports performance with no significant loss of comfort, and also substantially increase safety reserves on sudden load changes.

Type II and Type III alloys and racing rims are already available. Wheel/tyre combinations are possible in various sizes from 17" to maximum 19", with 225/35 R 19 on the front and 255/30 R 19 on the rear or optionally 235/35 R 19 all round .

The avant-garde Type IV alloy with its optional chrome elements constitutes a true highlight in the wheels sector and is already available . In 18" or 19" , it safely connects the 3-series to the asphalt at all times and transfers the power to the road in the optimum manner.
In addition, the latest AC Schnitzer Type IV wheels with their ultramodern look appear custom-made for the latest 3-series. The maximum tyre size is the same as for Type II and Type III wheels. We recommend high performance tyres from Continental and Michelin .

The appearance of the new 3-series is enhanced by the striking contours of the aerodynamic conversion. Depending on personal taste, the customer has a choice between the sports style variant and the Chromeline Design (for the side skirts). Both versions are striking with their modern design , which emphasises externally the high performance internal engineering. In the sports variant, the side skirts are painted completely in body colour. In the Chromeline variant, additional chromed elements are used.
The BMW E90 is given a quite unique expression thanks to the front spoiler in the new design. This makes the 3-series look even lower and at the same time improves downforce on the front axle.
Aerodynamic balance is provided by the rear roof spoiler, the one-piece rear spoiler and the rear skirt with its striking underfloor wing profile .
The AC Schnitzer aerodynamic range is completed by the sports mirrors.
For the interior, a carbon interior trim in "Exclusive" silver is available with matching sports airbag steering wheels . Already we have a range of aluminium accessories such as e.g. gearknobs, handbrake handle, pedals, footrests and a cover for the BMW "i-Drive System". Velours footmats complete the range.

Marahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750080599520524421noreply@blogger.com0
